As you come in to PB turn right at the roundabout heading for the harbour. The Hiperdino is on the left hand side, at the first zebra crossing. You need to turn left after it to get into the car park.

I'm not sure it's worth travelling anywhere else to shop but there is a mall near Play Honda called Deiland. Although the large supermarket there is just another Hiperdino.

Maybe one of the locals could say where's cheapest.

Spot on Robert!!! This is the place to shop in Playa Blanca and with the fruiteria now situated just outside of here as well then you can do a fantastic shop here and definitely not worth the drive back to the airport for the bigger Hiperdino!

The Hiperdino is definitely expensive but convenient if you are in Playa Blanca. The Hiperdino at Deiland (Play Honda) is bigger but prices are the same. :?

If you have a car and fancy a drive to Playa Honda then the places to shop are just ACROSS the LZ2 from the Deiland Centre. Congelados Roper has the best selection of fresh and frozen meats and fish you will find anywhere on the island, and the prices knock Hipedino into a cocked hat. Its greengrocery is superb too. This where the locals shop

For for your main groceries, toiletries, booze, etc you need to go back towards PB about 400m (stay off the LZ and go up the parallel service rd) to the Cash and Carry. Again this is where the locals shop. Good selection and cheapest you will find on the island. Anyone can shop there btw - unlike some similar where you need a card.

Getting on the road where Congelados Roper is can be tricky but I will give the trick to anyone that is interested

Hi Arby and all!

It is important to stress before lots of people start hitting Cash Mar for their shopping this operation is run for registered clients and it is only the cashiers that sometimes DO NOT ask for a card - if you are shopping without a card or account number you should be refused and I'm sure that the more "holidaymakers" that stop off here will only mean that they tighten up their systems.
I would question that the petrol and time to get to Playa Honda versus the money saved might not be so beneficial from Playa Blanca as it might be from Puerto del Carmen - plus the need for a fridge box etc. for the journey home with frozen goods from Congledos Roper - I think that it is great for us that live here but maybe a little impractical for those on holiday in Playa Blanca!
Hiperdino is not that expensive and if you are buying their bulk packs of toilet rolls etc. are only a few cents difference from the cash and carry in Playa Blanca, Cash Diplo (that always ask for your card).

Phil

Sounds about right Phil, maybe Arby has just been lucky not being asked for his card or nymber.

Oops just re-read Arby's post and he isn't referring to Cash Mar but to "Lanzarote Cash & Carry" (opposite to Roca before Orvecame) I do believe that this is a trade only location as well and remember having to hand over my residents card in here the last time I shopped - unless they have changed their system?
Arby can you confirm that you are definitely allowed to shop in this cash and carry without being involved with trade on the island or is it just that you haven't been asked? I wouldn't want lots of tourists to be rocking up in Playa Honda for their shops to be turned away!

Ok you guys must be right. :?

Congelados Roper is only a few cents cheaper. Its not worth the petrol. And the Cash and Carry is trade only (and not much cheaper than the Hiperdino)

PS anyone who wants the locations of these please PM me.
