Hi guys,

Im wondering can someone advise me on a lively hotel in puerto del carmen?

Im heading to lanzarote for the first time with a few friends.. we're all in our mid 20s so hoping to stay somewhere slighty more geared towards younger crowd, as it seems a lot of hotels ive seen so far are quite family orientated.

Any advise much appreciated :)

Dave

Hello Dave,
We always stay at the Rocas Blancas, that is a good one, great location for the bars, beach, nightlife etc etc

Some others to check out are Elena Apartments, Jable Bermuda's Cinco Plaza's and Plaza Palmeras

Have a look at those mate and you might decide you really like one of them

Enjoy PDC
Danny

Hi danny.. thanks for the advise :)

Rocas Blancas - would that be the more lively of the lot?
We were actually looking at the Pto Carmen Hotel - any experience on this place?

Basically, we're just looking for somewhere thats not mainly families/kids.. and close enough to the nightlife etc :)

Will check out your recommendations - thanks again :)

I think you'll find most complexes are more towards families and couples doesn't mean you won't have a good time, lots of young groups passing by from Azul, palmeras and cinco plazas so they ahve to be alright. Rocas is bang on the front and right next to the night life so no taxi worries there :P Elena is behind the main nightlife centre of centro atalantico and again no taxi worries just a stagger home with a kebab on the way.

You are bound to enjoy yourself wherever you stay but if you want to be near the night life then the hotel you have mentioned is not for you, I take it you mean apthotel puerto del carmen which is at the top of the old town on the roadto Tias.

My advice is to follow Dannys recommedations.

Never stayed at Rocas' myself -but I've yet to hear anyone say a thing bad about the place.

As far as location to nightlife is concerned, you're about 10 footsteps away from the lively Commercial Centre, right on the beach front. With plenty of other bars available behind you if you wish to walk up the slight hills.

As John & Danny say, the other places mentioned are all fine for people looking to go on the ale for a full week!

Enjoy PDC

There's not really any Club 18-30 type hotels/apartment complexes around.

But as is said above, Rocas Blancas is within earshot of Centro Atlantico and the late night bars/clubs there.

Los Cocoteros is another place along the main strip that's 2 mins walk from Centro. (Or as my cousin called it, Coco's Terrace.)

As mentioned earlier, It's where we always stay Dave
great pizza place next door (pinnochio's) and really handy for centro atlantico, Ruta 66 and Tropical.

If you come out of RB turn left, left again, up the hill about 150 yrds, you'll come to Spenders...
Call in and say hello to John (overhere) (big Newcastle fan) a friendly welcome awaits....
**Be warned if you drink spirits, his measures are Large !! **

Enjoy
Danny

Hi Superd,

It's worth a try going direct, we have this time.

This will be our 6th visit to Lanza and our 4th visit to the same apts (not the ones you are asking about, we have 2 kids!), but this time out of curiosity i sent them an email asking what their rate is and they gave me a discounted rate for being a repeat customer and for booking direct.

You never know if you if you don't ask, what have you got to lose?

Good luck, let us know how you get on x
Lisa x

Here you go Dave
rocasblancas@lanzaroteisland.com
Adrian is usually the guy on reception and Jose runs the bar downstairs I think

I book direct with them, it usually works out a lot cheaper, unless you are getting a super late last minute deal

But try Alpha rooms, travel republic etc and see how they compare mate

Enjoy PDC
