I have stumbled upon some very reasonably priced long term lets through a small spanish estate agency. They dont advertise and dont get too many english clients.

Currently there are properties for rent in Asomada, PDC, Playa Blanca, Orzola and Tias, and with prices from 360 euros a month it might be worth looking at.
Small admin fee, instead of a months rent as finders fee, one month rent as deposit.
