Hi there looking for advice coming back to matagorda but this is first time at christmas time coming 17th Dec - 29th Dec Will be with my parents, my husband and my 2 kids. My kids are 13 and 9 (the youngest still a believer......) Will there still be places open for eating etc, esp on christmas day - can anyone recomend somewhere nice to go (athough not too expensive!!!)

Also is there any Christmas activities on over this period on the run up to chrismas? any help advice greatly appreciated as i am really nervous about coming over at this time with kids!!!!

Most places are open throughout the festive period.

Try the Auld Triangle in the shopping centre for good food and entertainment at night. The owners are Dave and Marie from Ireland and it is a family business and very friendly.

I'd love to be in Matagorda at Christmas, however so far I've never managed it! My favourite bar would have to be the Funny Farm. Its another family run business and again very friendly ... they show films in the day for the kids if the parents are having a drink outside, and they also have a games console, not sure if its Playstation or whatever, as I've never played on it myself

They have live entertainment in the evening and as the name suggests .... its all about fun fun fun!
