Hi All,

Me and my girlfriend booked in the Lanzarote Apartments for May 2010. We have recently been told that our booking has been ammended due to closure of this hotel.

We were moved to Matagorda and the Costa Sal Apartments. Ive been browsing for opinions on Matagorda and the apartments but finding it tough to get some real opinions for couples our age (23+18)

Could anyone enlighten me with a few things please?

How far is it from PDC Strip?
How does it compare to PDC?
Is there much to do in the area?

Were after a relaxing holiday with a bit of liveliness on occasion and some good nights out.

Would we be better staying in the Matagorda Resort or heading over to PDC as much as possible?

Thanks in Advance :)

Lee/Faye

hiya - I've stayed at Costa Sal a few years back. Its quite a big complex with a big pool and has an onsite bar.

Its about a 5 to 10 min walk to the main Matagorda Centro Commercial with bars and restaurants. I'm quite happy to stay round there in the evenings but I suspect you might be happier in PDC.

If you come out of the Costa Sal reception and cross the road you'll be able to catch a bus straight into PDC (takes around 10 mins) or its a good 45 min walk, but there's lots of bars along the way.

If you do visit Matagorda CC in the evenings, pop into The Funny Farm and The Stage Door Cafe, you should have a laugh.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Thats answered everything I needed answering :) From reading a couple of threads on here it seems Matagorda has some good entertainment which we will be sure to check out.

Heard theres a sports bar also, so thatll keep me occupied for hours too :)

Thanks

That's a pretty good description of Matagorda, actually!

You've got the best of both - relax down in Matagorda and then stroll up along the front to the New Town in PDC or on again to the Old Town (harbour) in the evenings for liveliness.

As Gilly said, you can also get the bus (€1-ish each). Or a taxi to the Old Town will set you back €5-ish.

Enjoy :)
