Can someone tell me the exchange rate at the moment in Costa Teguise . Would we be better exchanging the money over here in England before we leave or waiting until we get there ? I know the rate at the moment is not too good here or over there but was wondering the difference .

The difference is unlikely to be more than one or two centimos to the pound. If you change £500, that would be less than the price of a cheap meal for one. It is much saver to bring your bank card and take it out of a hole in the wall when you need it rather than risking losing, or having stolen, the lot in one go.

I partially agree with Walker. Use a no-exchange fees card like halifax clarity or santander zero but if you have a safe in your room, bring a couple of hundred English Sterling just incase (most exchanges do take Welsh/N.I and Scottish sterling but I take English incase of hassle). Always remember to call customer services of your bank/credit card to inform them of the dates you are going away and coming back. My cards have been declined in the past because of this, although this has been in shops, not at the ATM's. The banks used to discourage you from doing this for obvious reasons but they've had many problems over the past few years and now they ask you to call them. And remember to use the website 'saynoto0870.com' to avoid paying premium rates when calling the bank/credit card company
