I havent stayed there but i did work next door to it, It is a big complex with a few pools, I believe its basic but clean.
Its close to the bach and there is a supermarket close by, you are a bit of a walk into the main part of PDC, but not too far away.
Im sure someone else with "inside" info will give you a bit more iof an idea, but as location its ok, nice and handy for PDC or matagorda, you have a few bars at hand and a 2 or 3 euro taxi ride will have you in the old town for a walk back towards the complex.

Taxi ride will be nearer to €4 from/to the old town to the apts.

Never stayed at them but have had friends who say they are cvlean and family friendly. They have a back gate which allows a short cut in to the commercial centre at Los Pocillos but it closes at nights and you have a to walk around the long way to the front of the hotel.

1O mins will see you in Matagorda shopping centre and 25 to the centro area od PDC.

Stayed there twice myself Wendy a few years back. As I recall, it was clean, apartments are spacious, nice poolside snack bar with great menu - hope it hasn't changed since! Using the back gate saves a lot of time too. It's a fair walk into the centre of PDC but oh so lovely walking along the prom - you never get views like that at home!

Hope you like cats (I'm not a big fan!) I remember on both visits that they were everywhere in the complex - last time round we had a whole family practically living on our patio. My daughter kept feeding them so they obviously thought they were welcome!

Regards
Maria

Yes it is a bit of a way out of PDC but you have all the amenities you need (supermarket – quite a decent one actually – bars, restaurants and of course the hugs beach) in the small commercial center just in between the complex and the beach, 2 mins walk. There’s also more shops bars and restaurants a short stroll towards your left in Matagorda or to your right in CC Costa Mar.
PDC has 2 main areas, a ‘strip’ of about 3km along the beach front, the start of this is about 1km from Don Paco, from the beach you can see a large cream building on the beach side towards your right, that’s the start of it. Then there’s the Old Town but that’s at the very far end of the strip but you should definitely get up there, the walk is actually quite pleasant, have a meal up there in one of the harbour restaurants and a taxi back.

hi wendy

i stayed there in sep07 and march this year, they are basic apartments but are clean. at night when we were going into town the staff on reception phoned us a taxi and it cost roughly 3-4euros. we have always been happy with the apartments we've had there and would def go back. hope you enjoy your holiday!

Oh ,thanks for the info guys! I don't really mind basic, long as it's clean. We went to my sister's time share last year at Anfi Del mar at Puerto Rico,Spain, we had to taxi all time to main town, and the reception phoned us cabs too, they had a few cats there on the complex as well.As walking I'm all for it,like to explore! 8)

We NOT looking for posh places, just me and my hubby just wanted to get out of cold England for 1 week, like I said long as it's clean, tidy place, that'll be fine!If I wanted posh would have paid more out for me hols! But we just paid out to have house re- wired, and bathroom re- plastered,so decorating to be done yet, just wanted a basic clean apartment for us to get away from it all for a week! 8)

We went to Tobago in 2006 for my nephews wedding,we stayed at Grafton Beach and that was very basic, nothing much to do but sun bathe and walk on beach. No shops around, cus it not a complex. The surroundings where shacks for houses, and there town bit Scarborough was like shanty town, shops looked like sheds, nope we won't be going there again! But we still managed to have a good holiday even though. 8)

Don't let the bad reviews put you off. Alot of people only bother with reviews if they have something bad to day, think of all the people that had a good experience but didn't bother to write a review.
I've stayed in places before that have had some bad reviews and always take with me a can of bug spray, a pack of anti-bacterial wipes (just in case the apartment has cockroaches) and a small blanket incase the bedding where I am staying isn't great, I just take one of the £2 ones from Ikea and then leave it behind so that I have room for duty free :D

You'll have a great time, it is what you make it.
