Actually - I found 'stopping' smoking the easiest thing ever - I read 'The Easy Way To Stop Smoking' by Alan Carr. You don't need to make it difficult!!!
p.s. Also - there is no 'pleasure' in smoking.
p.p.s. I hope this wont be removed for being non profit making.

I used the alan carr method as well marymouse, although I used the interactive CD rather than the book. Thing is I didn't even plan on stopping - watched it out of curiosity and then found myself thinking what an idiot anyone who smokes is. At that point I realised I was calling myself an idiot and the whole thing kinda exploded from there!

I found it quite easy. Having a daughter rather focuses the mind.

And over hearing a friends toddler discussing smells......"mummy smells of flowers but daddy always smells of smoke....."

No argument.

Hi hungrybear - so good to hear from somebody who knows what I'm talking about! When I read the book I was a 'secret smoker' as my husband didnt know I had started again, so I had to read the book at work while I smoked!!! (outside). A couple of hours after my last cigarette I got that 'rush' and felt I wanted to shout out loud that I didnt have to smoke any more - couldnt do it at home, so went to the gym and hammered the exercise bike!
I'd given up with patches before but was always a bit envious of people smoking - now, if I think anything at all it's just relief that I'm not doing it any more!

I was a heavy smoker, and had my last one on the doorstep of the hypnotist who stopped me in a single session. That was 32 years ago, so I think you can say I've given up!

I find that Nicotine patches are great. I Stick one over each eye and then I can't find my cigarettes!
