I have never been to Lanzarote. Am considering coming out for Christmas/New Year 2011/12. Normally go to Tenerife.

Considering Playa Blanca. Cay Beach.

Is it far from the beach, town, restaurants. Is there a lot of choice to eat, drink and unwind. Is it flat, hilly. What happens Christmas/New Year. Is there a town square where celebrations take place. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you google Cay Beach Playa Blanca, the first item is trip advisor, and there are lots of write-ups from peole who stayed there. PB is flat. Christmas is relatively quiet, as the Spanish celebrate on the night on 5 Jan. New Year is lively. The restaurants and fireworks centre on the promenade behind the beaches.

Location: PB Lanzarote, Oslo/Norway or London/UK.
Here's some of the PB Central skyline for you:

Image

The little beach in the middle is what gave the town it's name and is pretty much the heart of PB. The PB "main street" is roughly 50 yds behind it and runs more or less parallel to the waterfront. The Dorada beach is just outside the picture to the right.

The green marquise to the left of the beach is where "Casa Pedro" is, by far the best Seafood Restaurant in PB. The somewhat longer and darker shade (still green) to the right of the beach covers restaurant "Brisa Marina" which is also well worth a visit.

There's a promenade on the waterfront itself stretching from the far east to the very far west of the town. The promenade hosts numerous bars and restaurants as does the main street.

This just to give you an idea......
