Be aware Jake, that nightclubs in Lanza is for ladies offering dancing services, where as discotheques are what you'll be looking for, I reckon you'll find all you want in Centro Atlantico, also you'll get into practically everywhere with shorts and flip flops/trainers etc etc on

No worries mate,

I think that the term "Nightclubs" has the same meaning right across spain.

Have a great hol and enjoy Lanza

The 'clubs' in PDC, (i.e. disco type bars not the other) will not give a hoot what you're wearing, which is one of the best things about Lanzarote, very few places insist on any dress code, it's just laid back - dress code is fine for certain places but when on holiday in PDC I prefer to dress ultra-casual.

As said before the term 'Nightclub' means something different in Lanzarote and they're more likely to have an 'undress' code.

Jake - you will be sadly disappointed with the music in PDC. Set you hopes low so that you can only be surprised.

No clubs at all except Ceasars which makes your average Ritzy on a saturday night look like a cutting edge musical experience. No dress codes anywhere so don't bother dressing up - your favourite football shirt is acceptable attire - you get the idea.

Music is mainly commercail R n b with the usual white wannabe teenage gangsters grinding against anything that moves!

Caesars occaisional knocks out a housey set but then likely to follow that with the birdie song......

For "proper" clubbing you want to venture into Arrecife to the spanish clubs but can't help you there as haven't done that for ages.

Alternatively you can go to Charlies for great Live music, friendly atmosphere, reasonably drink prices and not a housey-garagey-record-stuck groove in the place. AND you can wear trainers ! Or even flip-flops.

Foodie, no wonder you don't like PDC, you go to the very worst of the places !

Ole

PS if you want a different music experience without going to Arrecife try Rumm in the Old Town, very stylistic and play Latin House music (?)

It amazes me how foodie comments on Cesars when he probably hasn't been in since it was took over. Come on foodie spill the beans to all the nice people, when were you last in Cesars? and moreoveR when did you last visit PDC.

Agree about Arrecife but how many tourists want to venture there?

928 is another place Jake might wnat to visit but think he would be better off in the centro area until closing and as Ole says try Charlies. There is another thread somewhere about Aché which could be worth a visit. AQlso try the American Indian on the front and now the children have gone home and the grannies don't want to hug the floor try Route 66 and Tropic.al

"can anyone recommend a good club to go to in p del carmen. sorta housey style music maybe."

Overhere you accuse me of never staying on topic!!
Well since when were anything of your suggestion matching the question - except for Cesars none of them are clubs, and cesars certainly doesn't fit the "good" variety.

Cesars has been taken over many times judging by its unless the previous owners are schitzo! From the mid 90s it has tried to be a serious club, a lap dancing joint, a ritzy type with bizarre cabaret interludes and a ludicrous attempt to parody cayote ugly - I assume it was a parody because it was pathetic.

I popped in back in July on the way back from Arrieta and admittedly only stayed for 30 mins - but seemed same as usual - most expensive drinks on island etc!

So fill us in what have we missed this year?!

How many tourists want to visit Arrecife - the ones who actually want to go to a proper nightclub rather than a bar or listen to some bloke with a guitar sing to a backing track!

Do you know what ????

I think Foodie actually quite likes Cesars, reading between the lines he's been a bit of a fan since the mid 90s.

I stay 2 mins walk from it and don't think I've ever put foot in the place, but I think I saw something on youtube which looked like someone setting fire to the place.

ah so 928 isn't a club eh foodie? the others were alternatives to try let's be honest who goes into the "clubs" befor 2am anyway unless you enjoy your own company and maybe that is about the time you went in on the way back from Arrieta.

Oh and just notice as I am typing this Ole has just mentioned the fact you said you didn't go to PDC on your last visit, I kind of remember reading something on those lines as well. Crae to enlighten us?

Sorry no Brahms, Mahler or other classical music clubs here so that probably why foodie doesn´t like it.

I love Cradle of Filth, Jean-Michel Jarre, the Art of Noise etc, but that is my choice.
Many of the clubs in Centro Atlantico (Allegedly) play lots of music that keep people very happy or they wouldn´t visit. I personally don´t like that scene but from guests reports at my bar it is really good.

I´m sure you´ll find the scene fine.
