I last visited in November and alot of the bars were selling drinks at €1.50 to €2. It just depends where you drink. Food is also excellent value for money.
You only have to take yourself a street or two off from the seafront to find the friendly, cheaper, Cannarian bars and cafe's. Personally I prefer these local places. I can sit in an English pub or a noisy tourist magnet of a seafront restaurant anytime, I'd rather soak up a bit of a differnt culture when I'm on holiday.

I can!!!!
Bar/cafetería San Francisco on C/Leon y Castillo, Bar asturias (opposite Gran Hotel), Bar Lemon (Charco de San Gines), Café estacion (Bus station Cafe), Bar La Vuelta (In the recova building), all in Arrecife.
to answer you cymmon the bar i was in i do go in from time to time work permitting but no prices advertised, even though it is law over here to show your prices. we do give our regulars a discount and would not put that up at any time if times were hard as those regulars keep us going in the hard times, our prices are reasonable anyway so no one complains. christmas day we had a 5 course dinner for 25 euros we charged 35 last year but times are hard so we reduced the price this year, a bar down the road was charging 35 for a 3 course and we had 5 sets of people in complaining and ate with us the rest of their holidays and never went back to the first bar again. can bar owners not realise thats why people are going back home and saying dont go to lanzarote you get ripped off there result no wonder we have no tourists.
