Never been to Lanz before, just arranged a late availability break in PB. Are there any nude beaches by the town or will I have to travel to the Papagayo area which I understand is a few miles from PB.

The other place to visit is Charco Del Palo, near Mala. This is a naturist resort. There isn't really a beach there, but a swimming area with steps down to the sea, and a couple of good bars and restaurants.
