Dear all

We are planning our first visit to Playa Blanca and would really appreciate some opinions on the Marina Rubicon area.

Specifically, we are looking to stay in a villa in San Marcial De Rubicon.

We have a baby, 4 year old and my 80 year old mum in our party. Our 4 year old loves the beach - can you tell us how close we would be to a beach.
My mum is quite sprightly, but really long walks to and from a beach or restaurants would probably tire her out, so could you also tell us how far bars and restaurants would be from San Marcial De Rubicon?

Any other thoughts welcomed. Thanks for your help.

Hi, you're an easy walk from the marina, which has lots of bars and restaurants, and is really lovely. The marina is about ten minutes walk from Playa Dorada a large beach which is really really nice. A further ten minutes (max) walk will put you in the main town with loads more bars and restaurants.

If you walk down but Mum doesn't fancy walking back there are loads of friendly taxis and it won't cost you more than five euros to get back.

You'll love it.

Hi,

We used to live near San Marcial, Its a nice quiet area. There is a Netto supermarket nearby for all your day to day stuff ( although can be expensive ) The coastal path is a few mins down the road infront of the Ibrostar hotel and this leads to the marina, We walked it with our 4 year old in 10/15 mins. The beach is a bit further so with all your beach stuff maybe ok there , but you can always get a taxi back.

If you have a car, Papagayo beaches on the other side near San Marcial, (5 min Drive) its 3 euros to get in as its a protected area but the first beach to the right is great for children as its calm and clear water.
