Thanks Phil. I'll look out the cardie for night time and the wind break for day time. I did read that you could get snacks and beer/wine 24/7 at the hotel. Looks like I'd better stick with the weightwatchers before I go or I won't be able to take advantage of the lovely weather (20's is fine with me) because my bikini will burst.

Only 16 weeks on Sunday and we'll be there.

Cheers
HTJ :D

Just been looking in Tripadvisor and the last three reviews of the Papagayo Arena are dreadful. Dodgy tummies, bad food, broken tiles at kiddies pool, unhelpful staff!! Has anyone been there in the last month or so. Going on 30th and feeling a bit aprehensive now because we were really looking forward to it as it looked fab.

Thanks for any info.

Just going by what they said on Tripadvisor. Hopefully it's just people who like to moan in general and that they are exaggerating. Will keep an eye on it and will post when we get back. Determined to enjoy it anyway.

Well i would say dont worry from my experience, we were there in August and we had a great time. Food was spot on, pool areas were excellent too.

Thanks tmaxx. Won't let a couple of negative reviews put me off. Glad you enjoyed your time there and I'll post when I get back with another glowing report.

Helen, when do you go ??

One thing to bear in mind, its a huge hotel. Took us a good day to get our bearings. Love it though and would not hesitate to go back.

tmaxx

Our flight is from Edinburgh at 0900 hrs on Sunday 30th Novemberand we're staying for a week. As to the size of the place I'll have to put my trust in my other half as I have absolutely no sense of direction. Better be a bit careful with the all inclusive for the first couple of days :D

Any updates on the Arena?

Does anyone know what if the AI beers and wines are of a reasonable quality ?

thanks

Beer was fine greatoaks, cant comment on the wine though. My mrs liked the cocktails, which were part of the AI much to her liking. :D

cheers tmaxx,

we are staying there for a short break in March, this will be the first time staying in an AI hotel so not sure what to expect.

There are so many different opinions on AI but I must say that the Arena is one of the few hotels on Lanzarotr that hardly has any

poor reviews , most previous guests seem to rate it very highly.

Any recommendations on which part of the hotel to request a room in ?

all the best

Sorry folks

I did mean to get back about the Papagayo Arena but somehow didn't get around to it. It was fab. Food was delicious and loads of it. Drinks were fine. I really liked the honey rum with a wee bit of ice. My only issue would be that it was a bit quiet at night. Entertainment not my style. The room was huge and had a lovely view. 10 minute walk to the beaches and well worth it. Weather a bit mixed but didn't spoil it for us.

I'd recommend it to anyone.

Cheers
