We were going to have a change and go to Matagorda instead of PB this year, but we thought better of it, so booked 2 weeks at the arena from the 31st July. Anybody here have any info on it? Have read lots of reviews on trip advisor, and about 90% are good. From what i have read the beach out the front isnt all that, but papagayo is only 5 mins away, so thats not a problem. Please tell me what you think of it.

This hotel is a long way fom the centre of Playa Blanca.
The area is very quiet but will prob need €4 per taxi to Playa Blanca unless they have started a coach "beach service".
Superb facilities though. Last hotel before Papagayo!

It shouldn't cost quite that much Cy. It'll be around €3, or a 20-30 minute stroll along the promenade into town. You can reach Playa Dorada beach in 20 minutes certainly... and that has plenty of bars etc just behind it for food and drink. I did the walk earlier this week. It's close to the Marina too - with loads of shops bars and restaurants. Everyone we know who's stayed at the arena loves it. The Papagayo beaches are stunning... but make sure you take your own food and drink with you. Great hotel... great town... Elle xx

Been there 3 times and we really liked it. Food very good. Rooms comfy and everywhere was very clean. Our son loved the fresh cooked pancakes at 4 'o' clock every day in the pool cafe. Car hire a good idea if you want to explore. They do a very good DIY 'packed lunch' in a large carrier bag if you want to go out for the day. Order the day before.Papagayo beach about 15 mins walk. We are having a change this time and going to the Costa Calero. Happy holiday. Deb

Hi
Going to Papagayo Arena for a week on 30th November. Has anyone been to Playa Blanca end of November/beginning of December? What's the weather like?

The weather at end of November beginning of December is milder than the rest of the year but you should still see temperatures in to the 20s most days and unlikely you'll get any rain (but we can get cloudy days). It is the wind that is always a concern for most people when coming out in the winter months to Lanzarote and so be sure to ask people which rooms are located on the beach (lower side) of the hotel so that you won't be too exposed up on the clifftop - I live very close to this hotel and know how the wind is at the top up there sometimes in December (lovely out of the wind but horrible in it). Great hotel - Great Location - Great Reviews (always) - Great Late Night Food (a friend took me up one evening when they were staying there and there is a little kitchen open all night for toasties and stuff) If you have any more questions just ask! Phil
