Hello - I will be visiting Playa Blanca in a couple of weeks time and would like to know which villa complex is the best between Parque del Rey and Costa Papagayo (or would they both rate the same)? We will be renting a villa and have the option of either of these places. We will not have a car, so need to be in walking distance of the town centre and beaches. Many thanks.

They will both be of similar standard, always very good.
The Costa de Papagayo is probably 10-15 mins walk to the centre of Playa Blanca.

Costa Papagayo is quite a bit further further from centre of Playa Blanca. You will NEED a car here. Its newer and quite a lot still being built - so you are more likely to end up next to a building site - ask the company?).

A lot will depend on the villas themselves I reckon. At the end of the day I think you will need to judge from the spec.

Not true. Costa Papagayo and Parque del Rey are much the same distance from the resort centre. You don't need a car for either.

Sorry. You are quite right. Thx for the correction. The Villas Costa Papagayo are nowhere near the NEW developments much further down toward Papagayo itself! (now that I look on map). This is very walkable to Playa Blanca - and is a mature development.

PS. Having said that I see they have fenced the whole area off between this and the petrol station in recent months, and look as tho they will start to build on this very soon
