My amazing family have surprised me with a week in pdc in early jan :D .am so so so excited 8) What can we expect weatherwise, especially in the evening? We always try and visit the carvery in the old town, what are the chances of it being open? Will it be very quiet? We usually visit in may/jul/oct hence the questions. any recommendations on bars/restaurants to visit in the old town (our preferred stomping ground) at this time of year.

Well, living here in Playa Blanca, I'd expect it to be warm to hot during the day in the sun and out of the wind, but cool in the wind and/or out of the sun. In the evenings, the sun sets at about 6pm, and the temp rapidly drops to about 15 to 18 degrees, so you'll need to cover your arms, certainly outside, at night. Very few places will be shut. I don't know PdC well, but I do know that the Puerto Bahia restaurant at extreme top left when you are in the harbour car park looking out to sea is one of our favourite restaurants on the island for service, view and food.

We are coming over Mid Jan for a week and if it's anything like last year we will be happy, the weather was hot and sunny and we were very lucky, re restaurants in the old town go to PUERTO VIEJA very good, EL ANCLA more casual but good food and atmosphere. BODEGA CASCARDA DEL PUERTO is always nice and the BODECOS irish-polish one is nice too, you cant go wrong really in the old town but I recommend those and also get the bus to Playa Blanca Market

we have been here in pdc just over a week, and the weather has been fabulous. yes its slightly chillier at nights compared to summer, but still easily wear a tshirt if you want to etc. we are normally summer lanzarote people, but this time of year is great. has me converted to do it more often. some places seem busier than they were when we were here in september. enjoy your stay. :D
