Hi,got back last week from our first holiday in PDC and really enjoyed it.We stayed at Rocas Negras which was perfect for us as we wernt in the middle of everything(but only 5 minutes away) which is how we prefer it.Next year we have to take our holiday in the first 2 weeks in August and was wondering what PDC is like then?Of course we expect it to be hotter and busier but what we dont want is to be where a lot of young adults go.Also, just how hot is it? Do you still get that breeze in high summer?Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Helen

Helen,

There tends to be more breeze or wind in Summer than this last month. The dytime temperatures tend to be in the low to mid 30s and mid to high 20s at night- nothing like mainland Spain, but sometimes the wind changes and for a few days we get hot air off the Sahara, into the 40s. Of course ,local conditions can change all this, so a terrace might be much hotter, or windier.

If you fancy somewhere lessyouth oriented than PDC, had you thought of Playa Blanca, which has far fewer theme pubs and clubs and tends to attract families and couples - not young adults on the razz.

Glad you had a nice time Helen,
August will as you say be busier but the great thing about PDC for me is it's never in your face, so you should have a great time still.
It does get hot, but the breeze is year round, not sure if this would affect sleeping at night though.

Still I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope some of our suggestions helped you

Danny

We go to Lanz first 2 weeks of August most years and PDC is fine at this time, busy but not to busy. There is a Fiesta at the beginning of August every year " Nuestra Senora del Carmen " during which the harbour area is quite busy every night for thefirst 5 or 6 days. Yoy may enjoy this.
