Hi heidijbezza, Lanzarote is the closest island to the african coasts, so you can expect a nice weather in April. Lot better than the others islands for sure. You have see live webcam/weather, google "costa teguise webcam". April's average air temperature are around 16c/24c, water 19c, and sunny hours 9h/day... all good

I think April is a great time to go. I have been in April for the past 3 years in a row. Generally flights and hotels are slightly cheaper if you miss the easter holidays too. As far as the weather goes it is generally around 26c on average. There are some days when it has been a mini heat wave and the temps were around 30c. Out of the combined 24 days I have spent there I reckon only 3 have been cloudy, and never seen a drop of rain so you should be ok!

Good to see that it is warm in April, as we are coming over end March/April, decided to have my Winter break later this year as we were washed out last February, made up for it with our holiday in August though, with 2 weeks of lovely weather. Flights booked, just need to find some good apartments as we usually book a villa, just me and the wife this year, looking for something in the New town, on the front, so if any reccomendations, also looking at the ones mentioned on this thread

Well we are all booked up and ready to go...Elena apartments ended up being the ones due to location etc! A little worried about the small pool as prefer the pool to the beach but I am sure we will be fine! Does anyone know if there is a heated pool around the Elena that we could use (possibley in apartments close by). Just hoping its not going to be too quiet for us in the resort...and that the weather is going to be hot hot hot! Thanks for all the info everyone!

Hi Heidi,
I've stayed in the Elena a few times, last time being in Sept. They definately don't have a heated pool Im afraid. Im sure the sun will be shining though so you will be glad of a cool pool. The pool is pretty small but its a cracking hotel, its less than a 2 minute stagger to Centro but still surprisingly quiet during the day.
Re how busy PDC will be, I honestly wouldn't worry. I've been coming over for the last few years and I would definately say that if anything Lanza is a lot busier especially with the arrival of Ryanair now flying into the Island. Either way Im sure you will still have a blast.

Hi Heidi, We were in PDC last April and the weather was lovely, a couple cloudy days but still very warm every day. The nightlife was good too, it wasn't hopping but it was still lively enough! I'm sure ye girls will liven it up this April anyway! Elena are in a great location, so central...we stay in the Rocas Blancas usually! We are going in May!....sooooo excited!!!! Just over 9 weeks to go!!

[quote="mit2788"] As far as the weather goes it is generally around 26c on average. quote] You were very lucky! In April temps here are between 16 and 24 degrees so the average about 21. I´ve never seen it get to 30 in April in all the years I´ve lived here. But I suppose you never know with global warming. Still really nice though compared to the UK.

But I suppose you never know with global warming. Still really nice though compared to the UK. That's quite confusing - you are talking about the average temperature - most people talk about the average maximum temperature, as in the daily highs. Average daily highs in April are about 24ºC or 25ºC and it is not that unusual to see highs of over 30ºC if there is a Calima. In 2006, the maximum temperature in April was over 36ºC!
