Hi all,

I have been to PDC twice before and have always had a great time! I am returning with three girl friends on the 4th of April for ten nights, we are all in our mid twenties. I know no one can predict the weather but does anyone know what the weather has been like over the last few years at this time. I remember I was over in April 07 and we had lovely weather (heatwave I was told).

On past visits I spent alot of time in Tropical bar, I have heard this is now closed can anyone confirm this...I must say I will be gutted if this is the case???? I have also been told that things are very quiet in PDC at the moment...I hope not as we are hoping for some busy bars to have a dance in that have a bit of atmosphere etc.

And finally can anyone recommend some decent apartments close to the beach/bars that are quite lively with a bar and maybe entertainment?

Thanks ever so much

:D

Hi heidijbezza, we were there last April although it was a bit quieter because we landed during the ash cloud drama. Weather surprised me as we normally go in august. but it was scorching the whole week! Tropical was closed while we were there too unfortunatley but ruta 66 was still a good laugh and centro had a lot going on ( although a night there can be quite expensive ) You will have no problem having a good night out. Cant help you on the apartments, we stayed in La Penita which is fantastic location but a quiet hotel and we had no entertainment there etc, so probably not what your looking for. im sure theres plenty on here that can point out some good apartments.
Enjoy your hol :D

Hello Heidi,
Rocas Blancas would be a good shout for your apartments, right across from the sea, staggering distance from Centro Atlantico and Ruta 66. Great pizza place next door called Pinniochio's

They have a bar with a singer on a few nights a week and there's no hills to climb

They are not 4/5* mate, but excellent value for money and in my opinion you can not find better, if you just want to sleep/shower, only downside is a small pool, but that shouldn't worry 4 girls

Happy Holidays
Danny

heidijbezza, I was out all November and didn't see Tropical open at all, Ruta was and so was all in Atlantico. Not totally buzzing tho'. Someone said tropical was only opening on a seasonal basis but not heard anymore on that. We had a great craic in Redz II which is across road from Farionnes and upstairs, great karaoke, and more importantly great drinks deals, a lot cheaper than Ruta etc, but not as smart a place.

I've just got back today and Tropical isn't shut or closed down. They're obviously struggling for customers as the resorts pretty quiet at the minute and they have Ruta right next door to compete with. Tropical was open Thurs/Fri/Sat and closed the rest of the week. I guess when the season picks up they'll be open every night again.

Ruta 66 was as busy as ever, every night especially Friday & Saturday. Centro was dead !

Thanks so much to everyone for the replies/info etc.

Flights are booked and paid for so just accomadation to book now. I have looked at Rocas B aparts, they look like they are in a very good posistion so thanks Danny! I am toying with the idea of Atlantis las lomas apartments at the moment as they are offering a very good price for a two bedroom apartment £284 for four people self catering for 9 nights which I think is amazing! Are these near Jables bermudas as I stayed here two years ago and liked the location?

Saphire I am glad to hear that Tropical is now open again as on my last visit it was closed. I hope things pick up before we are due to come out especially in Centro. I mean when I have been it has always been 'out of season' as such so although not busy there have always been a few people about to have a laugh with.

Let me know if anyone else is going out at the same time!

Thanks

Heidi

Hi there, been to PDC 4 times and have just booked up again for a 5th time with 2 of my mates for a week in april, 6th to the 13th. Staying at the plaza palmeras hotel for the 5th time, staff are very friendly and the rooms are big and cleaned on a regular basis! The pool is big but pretty dam cold! but theres plenty of sun loungers and plenty of room around the pool. Theres a happy hour twice aday which is all good if you fancy getting the party started a little early :D . The hotel is about a 5 min walk from the front where all the bars are, its slighty up hill but really nothing to worry about if your a group in your twentys! So if your after a cheap hotel that is a good alrounder it might be worth you checking out there website for a look. Ps theres a netto supermarket 2 mins away which is great for getting supplies! Tommy

Hi,,
They shut Tropical for a refurb earlier last year and reopened it in the summer. Apart from New Year's Eve I thought PDC was quiet in terms of nightlife but I've thought that every time I've been this last year. Each time we walked past recently, Tropical was dead and struggling whilst Ruta 66 was packed.

The music quiz's at Sunset Beach are good fun (I managed to win a bottle of vodka and a bottle of wine last month) :-)

Have a great holiday

I've been to PDC many many times, and always stayed at Atlantis los Lomas, wouldnt stay anywhere else. I just love the pool areas, it has about 4 pools and always dead relaxing there, you could get up at 4pm and still get a sunbed easily enough, the pool areas are so so spacious. Apartments fairly basic, but clean and tidy. 2 minutes down cardiac hill and you're at Linakers bar to the right, and centro atlantic to your left. You'll get used to cardiac hill, just hammer the vodka each night and you wont remember climbing back up to. .
