I wouldn't hold your breath - it was first proposed in about 1985.

I doubt you will be teeing off much before 2025!

So, what can you see of where they started doing access roads etc?

To be honest, not a great deal. They've blocked off the road around the back, built an access road to where they moved a storage yard (thankfully from about 100yds from where i'm sitting now) and there was a digger knocking about somewhere. That's about it i think.
If i get chance, i'll climb Montana Roja tomorrow, take a pic and post it.

I'm told the contractor has invested a large amount of money in a giant earth mover, and he probably didn't do that lightly!

But like with Faro Park and the Colarades area - they laid out the street plans in the 80s and 90s and then just mothballed it for a decade!

Yes but IF it's true that a contractor has laid out on a big earth mover, which must be a large 6 figure sum, then it seems unlikely if it's being mothballed. THe plans for the gold club were drawn up at the same time as the whole Club Lanzarote development, which is why the sewage plant is where it is, so they can use the water from it for irrigation of the course.

You should have tried the one they built at Mount Pleasant - the RAF base in the Falklands - in 1986. You could honestly lose your golf bag on the fairway, never mind the ball!
