Be very wary, when ordering food, at the local restaraunts. We ordered a chaterbriand, to be cooked well done.It arrived, rare, and in fact raw, and still had not defrosted when the waiter cut it ( wafer thin to try and disguise it) (frozen mixed veg. also still frozen) We had to pay for the food, even though we requested the police. The police advised us to contact the Lanzarote Tourist Office when we got home to claim our money back . (APPARANTLY THERE ISNT ONE!!)The name of the restaraunt is-CASA JOAQIN. PLAYA FLAMIGO. IN PLAYA BLACA. But we suspect they will be all the same. We didnt have any decent food while we were there (2 weeks). And very expensive. We certainly would NEVER go again.

Hi! - Doesn't sound good but I will add we've been going to Lanzarote nearly every year since 1993 and always go down to Playa Blanca at least three times for a meal and have never experienced anything as bad as this. Quite the opposite. When it comes to steaks their medium and well done seem to equate to our rare and medium but it does seem a little extreme to say you had no decent meals in two weeks.

Not sure why you would think the police would help you get your money back, but it is a shame that the restaurant let you down. I ate at the same place almost 2 years ago and was even a peanut sauce on a steak that should not have had nuts anywhere it, and I have an allergy to them. I complained and was given another meal, I couldn´t eat it because obviously I felt sick. BUT I would say that all restaurants on the island are rubbish, quite the opposite in fact. I think bringing the problem to the attention of the waiter, then requested a new meal normally works.
