Hello, I'm new to the forum and have a problem. I am booked in December to go to the Playa Lanzarote in Costa Teguise, it should be opening next week after a full refit, someone I know who has just returned says no way! I have checked the Thomas Cook web site and they are no longer selling the holiday, I have also checked the Hoteur web page and can no longer book through them even though its part of their group, does anyone know whats happening? I'm beginning to get a bit worried. can any kind soul throw any light on the situation. many thanks.

I have same problem, booked for 18th November. Obviously well behind schedule with refurbishment. After several phone calls with agent I booked through have been told we will be staying in the Lanzarote Bay.Seems OK but booked Playa for its location. Not had confirmation of this in writing yet. If we pass Playa Lanzarote will let you know how it is getting on.

Just heard from a mate who had booked with Thomas cook for end of Jan begining of Feb, he has been told to pick another hotel as this one won't be ready by then.

thanks everyone, just been notified by TC that the hotel wont be ready, they were going to put us into the Lanzarote Bay but we decided on another hotel in another resort. A pity really cos I was looking forward to being so central and a new look hotel. Ta once again.

Deefer, thanks again, been informed by TC that it wont be open in time, very strange its been closed nearly all year, you would have thought they would have tried to open to catch the christmas trade.!!!

we were booked in the hotetur playa costa teguise for 23 dec 2010 have just had to cancel and rebook elseware,have found out this hotel will not be opening and is up for sale as hotetur cannot pay anymore money for the refurb ,suggest you contact your travel agents as we have done,and this has been confirmed by them.

When in CT was told that the Tahiche Apts haven't opened as there was an unwritten agreement with Thomas Cook that they would guarantee 45% occupancy but changed their minds as the contracts were about to be signed and the owners won't open without that guarantee. Whether this is true or not I don't know but several bar owners on the headland in CT are upset about it all.

i cant see how the bar owners are upset about is as it was going to be AI so not much trade for them
