I live in Playa Blanca, not PDC, so others may give you a better steer. Basically, the Old Town is compact and huddled around the Harbour. The "New Town" is actually a long strip running along the shoreline for a couple of miles North from the Old Town, so the walk is anything between 100 yards and 2 miles, depending on where you go. I think you can get a large draught beer for about 1.5 Euros in some places, but more in "better" places. Food again is variable. For a main course you could pay between 5 and 25 Euros depending on what and where it was.

Supermarket food is a bit more expensive than UK, but only because of the poor exchange rate at the moment. Bear in mind the little supermarkets and HiperDino Express will be more expensive still, just as they would be in a tourist area in UK. Alcohol is cheap in the supermarkets.

If you`re stopping in the Old Town there are plenty of places to eat at with a wide variety of prices and menus. The beers are cheap enough and again there is various prices. When we stop over there we shop at Hiperdino on Calle Reine Sofia and when eating out found no problem getting in somewhere. The walk up to the new end along the strip is a pleasant stroll now the new pavements are finished. If you are on a budget for your food/drink it is worth shopping around but all told the prices wont mean you will need open wallet surgery...have a nice holiday - we always do!!! 8)
