Hello,

I am planning a vacation in Fuerteventura island from 23rd July. But a plane lands in Lanzarote island around at 17.05 and the last ferry Playa Blanca-Corralejo goes at 19.00 (Naviera Armas).
I have 2 questions (the second one is more important):
- How long does it take to reach Playa Blanca from Lanzarote airport by taxi?
- in case that I land later than scheduled (lets say at 19.00). Is there any other way of reaching Fuerteventura island? Since Naviera Armas's last departure time is 19.00. Are there maybe some locals that offer a ferry/traject to that island? I think it would be a bit wierd that it is not possible to reach another island later than 19.00...

Many thanks for helping me :)
Kind regards from Slovenia

Hi,

I don't think that it is possible to get to Fuerteventura after the last ferry unless you chartered a private boat, so I'm pretty sure that a night in Playa Blanca would be cheaper!

A taxi from the Airport to Playa Blanca takes about 40 minutes.

And in that case, do you happen to know if I would be able to find free room for one night? Since it is end of July, is there a big possibility of hotels being 100% occupated?

With the cost of a Taxi and possibly a room and the general stress and agro would it not be better to get a plane to Fuereventura or better still stay in Lanza:-)

Of course it would spare me a lot of problems by landing directly in Fuerteventura, but the cheapest plane to Fuerteventura (by Ryanair) costs 160€, and to Lanzarote it costs 40€ (again Ryanair)... I have checked all nearby airports and I could not find a cheaper flight to any of those destinations.
And in case that I sleep over in Lanzarote, it would cost me additional 60€ per person (including taxi and ferry). So it is still cheaper and I will also be able to explore a bit of Lanza ;)

That is why I am asking if any of you happen to know if it is urgent to book a room in advance just in case that I miss that ferry or is it possible to find a (cheap) room for one night when I arrive in the end of July?

Many thanks for helping me ;)

At that time of year, you should probably book the accommodation in advance. You'd find something alright, but you might have to pay for it!

Maybe you should just plan to spend the first night in Playa Blanca.

Well the last time I stayed in Lanz (December) the plane had to land at Fuerte. It's quite rare, but it does happen.
