Sorry for the 3 topics.:)

I am a Rangers FC supporter. Coming out to PB on 7th Feb 2008 for 2 weeks and wondering if there are footie bars in PB.

Also is there an internet cafe. Get withdrawal symptoms when I am away from my pc too long.

We are thinking of getting the bus from the airport to Arrecife then the bus to PB. Is it OK to take luggage on the bus.

Many thanks for any help.:):)

Wrt the first two questions the wax bar near playa dorada will sort you out for both of those.

As for the bus, I've no idea, but people seem to get on and off with tons of shopping - so shouldn't be a problem.

Flash has already answered your internet question with Wax bar... but there is also an internet cafe in the high street, as well as one in the arcade on the seafront. Oh, and La Bocaina. Tell us what part of the resort you're in - and we can be better help for you - with a nearby one.

As for footie bars... yes, again Wax Bar as Steve mentioned... but you won't have to wander far to find one anyway. Again... let us know which part of the resort you are in, and we can help more specifically. Oh, and Wax Bar's website is http://www.waxbars.com and they post the fixtures on there, so you can check if it's showing.

Also have a look at http://www.fiddlersbar-lanzarote.co.uk Alex and Liz are both Rangers fans... and will give you a very warm welcome. To find them, stand with your back to the church in the High Street... look across the road, and up one floor. The entrance is via the alley next to Paddy Mac's Bar. I was in there this afternoon. The terrace there is great... and you can either peer over the side to people-watch... or just kick back, enjoy the views to Fuerteventura, and bake for a while.

Absolutely no problems with taking luggage on the bus. We see people at PB bustops with cases all the time. good luck with that journey though... it might take a while. Am guessing you're not hiring a car, otherwise it would be much better to pick that up at the airport.

Or... a cab would cost €30 - €35 each way, and would only take you about half an hour. Sometimes it's worth spending the moeny to avoid the transfer hassles.

Enjoy your 2 weeks!

Many thanks for the replies. I am staying at Las Brisas ( timeshare exchnge). Stayed in it 10 years ago and it was superb then. You have your own little barbie in your own little garden. Paradise. Went to PDC last year and took a bus to Las Brisas but was all closed up for refurbishment. Be interesting to see it now it has been modernised.

Last time we went there were only little shops so our BBQ was either chicken breast or fish. Looks a lot bigger now.

The airport to Arrecife airport bus has lots of space for luggage.
For the bus to Playa Blanca, service 6 http://www.arrecifebus.com , you can put the cases under the floor just like on a coach.

We stayed in Las Brisas last July too, and we met Alex and Liz at the fiddlers. We have friends who know them and told us to say Hi. Alex is a great musician so you'll need to ask him to play for you.

Tell him Robert and Carol from EK say Hi.

HughMc I am a member of FF although can't get on tonight as Cousin has gone this evening to Fulham and the hamster can't keep up. Been in touch with the webmaster of http://www.bluenosebars.com as no bars show up for PB so he is going to add it. I'll say hellohello to you at the games.

As for the Las Brisas update it was 2 years ago. We had a peek in the windows and could see new TV's, DVD's etc.

I have taken notes of those who want me to say Hi to Alex and Liz.:) Will that get me a free drink?8)

Sorry touringlady - I've already nicked it! :D

To get to these bars from your complex... come out of Las Brisas, and turn towards the dual carriageway. At the dual carriageway turn left... go cross over just before the roundabout, towards the town centre. Follow the road round until you see a church on your right, just past a mini playground. Fiddlers Bar is right across the road from the church as described before. To find Wax... go past Fiddlers, and when you come to a commercial centre with a Burger king flag flying, yu're in the right place. Follow the path down the right hand side of the complex and Wax is on your left, almost at the end. Alternatively, go in via the complex entrance... and keep going down the steps until you reach Wax on your right. Helen and Mark will make you feel very welcome. We'll probably be in there at some point too - I'll be the one jabbering to Hugh's missus whilst ignoring the footie. ;)

Thanks Elle for the directions.

Ah 2 weeks tonight and we'll be there. Today we've had hailstones, galeforce winds, bucketing rain and snow.:):(:)

Another pleasant January day in dear old Blighty.!!!
