just back from a fab week in lanzarote, weather not that great, but cant complain as spend most of the time in the pub.

the avenida is looking good, after its makeover, not so sure the residents would agree with that tho.

any one else heard the rumour that Linekers is goin to be a Pizza Hut :?: or is that just an other Lanzarote myth :?:

i wont be back in Lanza till xmas, so im sure il find out then :?

I heard that rumour aswell.
The bars and shops are under pressure to improve the look of there premises.
So i'd say that could be true about Pizza Hut.

Pizza hut improves the image of somewhere?!!!

I'd be very surprised as they operate as franchises and depend upon keeping costs down by supplying many "restaurants" from the same source. Can hardly see how 1 pizza hut could operate independently - and in the current climate can't really see it.

I was in your bar once and didnt like it.

Was not giving out about your bar, I was saying about ALL the bars and shops having to sort out the signs and air-con units to make the front of them nicer.

In the defence of Linekers Bar, when I was over last time I visited and was impressed with the service and politeness of the staff. I watched a Grand Prix on large screen with a cool beer and the view from the balcony was good aswell. I have been known to recommend certain holstelries in PDC and would put this on my list. As for Pizza Hut, I like to go to PDC and enjoy the variety without having KFC, Burger King, MacDs and others in my face although they may well be there. I am sure that rumours are started when certain places are either doing well or someone has axes to grind. Anyone reading this subject will be urged to go and see for yourselves and be sure to mention why you`re there (this site!!), networks like this are worth their weight in gold to the bar owners in PDC, that said - I will be sure to pop in on my next visit - the `Yackem` will return.......

craig you should know what rumours are like we have had 6 months o jaspars closing or it is closed. someone came in last week had been in another bar and said they were coming to us and the girl behind the bar said oh that bars closed down i just give up but as you say if people would ask answers from the horses mouth then these rumours could be quashed straight off

Sue

don't forget that quite recently you were telling people myself included that the bar was closing, so maybe that's where the stories originated from and as you say we all know what this place is like.

what i said was our lease was up at the nd of june and i could not see us keeping the bar on as the landlord was increasing the rent but these rumours go back to before xmas so that is not the reason why but should add we have still not made a decision yet but will keep people posted and if anyone knows of a bar which would suit us in pdc then email me at suejaspar@yahoo.com
