We've started going to PB three times a year and love trying new restaurants as well as our favourites. It's interesting that the same place will get rave reviews and very bad ones - e.g. La Roja gets very bad reviews in general on another web site, but our meal there last September was delicious.
What are your favourites and worst?

Well, living here, we don't eat out much, but La Chalanita and Le Bocaina, Aromas, and Romantica are good for grown up eating. Pedro's is supposed to be good for fish. Horno D'abuela is supposedly good for rustic dishes, and L'Artista and Luna Rossa for Italian. Down near Faro Park, the fish and chips in the Lighthouse get rave reviews, and Port of Call which is now run by the Snug/Le Moka team is great. We tend to avoid the "tourist" ones along the front and in the Marina. The point is that one man's meat etc etc.

Hi Walker - yes indeed one man's meat!!! Some of the restaurants you mention we have tried but wouldnt want to go to again for no particular reason though. We are going to try Romantica and Port of Call next time (as well as our favourites).

Port of Call is a restaurant in a residential area of Playa Blanca called Faro Park, i.e. not in the main resort.

If you're driving out of PB and have Sebastyns on your left, carry on for a few minutes past the H10 hotel and a bit further on there is a left turn to Faro Park on a roundabout - turn left at the roundabout and then right at the end and the row of shops and restaurants is on your left.

Luna Rossa the nice Italian is two doors down from Sebastyan's. There is also a very nice Italian a few doors down from Port of Call (proper table linen etc). In contrast, the tapas in Bar Femes by the roundabout in Femes, is some of the best and best value I've had anywhere.

Hi Walker - We havent been to Femes for about a year - we used to go to the restaurant on the road with the lovely little outside garden - last time that we went there was some building work going on - is it finished?

Mary, there are three restaurants with views, two on the Balcon where they are still finishing road works, but they are open. I think the one you mean with a floral garden is Emiliano's on the top bend in the road. I don't think that ever shut for the work, but it is shut one day a week - Tuesday, I think.
