Arrrrgggh.

What a pain in the arse they where, wasn't worth eating in any of the roadside restaurants, not unless u like dusty food

the only places worth eating in on the front were the ones facing the sea. there where two very good places, 1) The Place and my personal favourite 2) Cafe La Ola, what a chilled out place that is, very serene.

As for the old Town, some great places to eat and drink with far better atmospheres than most of the bars along the strip in the "new Town".
And if you have kids, The old Town is the only place with a half decent play area and some decent restaurants nearby.

Zarni.

Where have they got to now? I assume they started at the Fariones end. If so have they reached the CC Atlantico yet & if so is that end now finished? Does it look like the area where the stage is on New Years be clear in time.

Hi

We came back a week last Sunday and the roadworks were right outside Centro Atlantico - went all the way up to casino.

Looked a right mess !!

Work was being done during the day - however not at a very fast pace !!

I'm back 10 days and they were just further along from the centre Atlantico then.

I was actually very suprised how quick they were moving along as never having been there before and hiring a car it meant it was no problem driving the wrong way on one way streets :D

Also because of them the main strip was really peaceful when having a meal in one of the cafes. You could hear the surf which is very strange in any resort.

Looks like it will be well worth it in the long term and you can see the plans of what it will look like when it's finished.

After all you don't want it to smell like certain other Spanish resorts :!:

So what are they actually doing? Will there be pedestrianisation?

They are ahead of schedule but now waiting for more pipes!!!!

Will be one way trafic on the front but much larger pathways. Will be good when done but hurting the resort as it happens.

Seen it in most places that need/want to improve, very few fail.
The resort will be excellent once it´s all done.

Be patient.
