Watch out for CSH holiday scratch card people.Once you are in thier shop it is hard to get out. Do not give them any money. Lanzarote is great but beware in Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca for the timeshare pests!

I've never noticed any in Playa Blanca. Are you saying you have?

I thought that the time-share scratch-card pests were a thing of the past?

Or at least that people now knew it was just a racket.

Do some still fall for "Oh my god, you've won a free bottle of champagne!"?

The days are long gone when they gave you loads of booze and fags for being bored to tears for two hours.

Yep I've never seen them.

Why are us brits so incapable of telling someone where to go....we seem to have no problem doing it at kicking out time on a friday night.....!

I haven't seen any on Lanza for years. I worked for Wimpey at the time they were pestering people about Las Brisas and the like, I couldn't even get away from Wimpey when I was on holiday :) . Many a timeshare tout has been told where to go over teh years, I'm not shy in that respect. :D

Was in PB about 3 years ago and there were the odd couple of touts at the corner of Calle Limones, near the steps that go down to the beach.

In the early 90s it was unbelievable.

The first we met followed us into a restaurant and sat down with us. We thought it was someone with learning difficulties - until he started selling. After that there were LOADS. (PB/Las Bristas/Wimpey i think)

It was the same in all the Canaries then. They even used to use two on a scooter to get to their next targets quicker.

I have not seen any in years now - probably since about 2000.
