Jase,

You could try these people here :

or here

I wouldn't worry about being a little naive I'm sure they're used to it. Green is another word for naive, now you should worry about being green on board

I have fished on a few charters in a lot of different places. Even some one who is experienced cannot know how to fish a new spot. Specially a new country. Thats why it's best to go with a local expert who will show you exactly what to do to catch. They will nearly always treat you as if you haven't fished anyway. Which isn't a bad thing.
As long as you don't get sea sick it will be a really good day to remember. Sea sick tablets work a treat but can make you sleepy. They knock my missus out within a couple of hours everytime. Which is a double bonus. But she always manges to catch the biggest fish of the day 1st .Then braggs tills she's KO'd.

Here's a roundabout related answer, if this helps.

I did a small boat charter, with another family, although it was mainly for the ride and to see the island from offshore. Part of the trip included fishing.

I had never fished before, because I've had a phobia about fish. Anyway, I had a go at fishing that day, and was quite pleased with myself. They showed me how to tie a thingy onto the end of a line, get the hooks on, cut up bait, stick it on the hooks, drop the 'plumb' to the bottom, keep it there until it gets wedged, then pull it up and break the line. Great. So I can do that now.

Meanwhile, 3 got seasick, 2 got sunburnt, pm was really overcast, 1 kept moaning that she was hungry, the skipper burnt a hole in the coffee pot, we saw some dolphins go by, a fish tried to jump out of the bucket and gave the kids a fright and I found out that some fish have massive tongues when caught.

We booked this through Tracey at http://www.snorkellingdelights.eu

Tracey is based in Playa Blanca (near Wax, Mollys, Burger King) and is very nice and helpful.
