Unfortunately it is very hard to control spam when it is real human beings rather than spambots that are adding it (which is the case at the moment). Links from DiscoverLanzarote.com have become so valuable that it has become worthwhile to pay people to manually register, receive an activation email and then come back and add a post.
We ban them everyday and remove their posts.
It is better to just report the post and let it drop down rather than reply to it - in some ways replying actually helps the spammer.
Being an administrator/global moderator on a Norwegian forum, I can only second the above. Robots are not the problem. And the forum software has only limited ability to automatically detect and execute the bad guys.....
In our case we do a cleanup every morning and night, - but there is no way we can watch this on a 24/7 basis.....
Best thing is just to neglect.....
And whatever you do, don't click on any of the links provided by spammers. Not only may it add to their income, - it may also infect your computer badly at times.....
