Hi all! I will be in Lanzarote again in 3 weeks, Can't wait! But something I have never been able to find before.. A spanish/latin bar that plays latin music or has spanish bands on? Or even Salsa!?!? Anything different! Anybody know of any in Puerto del Carmen or the surrounding areas? Thanks for any help you can give me!!

The "Estacion de guaguas", bus station café in Arrecife plays alot of this music as the staff are mainly South American. It´s only background music but it´s also a friendly and cheap bar. Bottle of Tropical €1.30 etc

Try the Aché Bar in Centro Atlantico or any Bar on Calle Jose Antonio in Arrecife. Quote: The "Estacion de guaguas", bus station café in Arrecife plays alot of this music as the staff are mainly South American. A Bus Station!????!!!!!!!!

Yeah Ache on the top floor in Centro Atlantico is great, I can’t do that Salsa thing (not with my back !) but it’s great to watch them strut their stuff for a while, there’s some seriously good dancers in there. Unfortunately there’s a bit of a lack of Spanish bars in PDC, you’ll get more of a feel of Spain / Canaries in restaurants rather than bars. There’s a newish trendy place called Rumm in the old town, more of a disco really I think (is disco still a word ?), there’s also a couple of other Spanish bars in the Old Town e.g. Cerveceria San Miguel but they’re more modern that traditional. El Campesino is a tiny night-time bar with more traditional Spanish and canarian live guitar music – its on Calle Bernegal, up Cardiac Hill first right and it’s on your right by the Jable apartments reception. Arrecife is the place where the spaniards go. They sensibly leave PDC to the Brits and Irish.

There is La Saranda en Macher, which is quite near PDC. They offer traditional Canarian tapas and on a Friday night they have a bunch of guys playing Spanish Guitar and Timple wandering from room to room. Good atmosphere, though not totally authentic.
If you really want to taste "real" Spain and the culture you do need to travel to Arrecife as others have said, or head well out of the resort areas, for example to Palenke in Punta Mujeres, where they have a "bring your own guitar / percussion instrument / maraccas" evening every Friday. Cracking night out, great food (cooked on a wood fired BBQ) and table dancing is encouraged!

Ole I think RUUM has closed down, but not 100% sure. Has anyone got any info to back this up. It definately was not open in mid February. El Campesino is good.

Cardiac Hill is Calle Guanapay which is the road running up from the main strip with Tito’s on the corner. Come out of Linekers turn left and it’s the first road on your left. If you wanted to go from the Old Town to El Campesino (or anywhere past Linekers) then you could go past Biosfera, bear right at the roundabout and then first left (where the road bends) and cut through the back roads.
