Just thought I'd share this with you.
I was out for a walk yesterday morning 8am up the Old Town PDC.
As I was walking down to the small beach and harbour I passed a noisy bunch of men about 6 of them. When i got down to the sea front I saw 2 girls sitting on a wall. The men were shouting at them to try and get them to come up to the building they were standing outside. I walked on but had to go back to the girls. I asked them were they OK and they said they were. They were very very drunk. I told them to be very careful but dont think it even registered with them. Cant believe how stupid some girls are. As I walked away one of them was trying to get into some mans jeep, he got a fright and drove away. Next time she might not be so lucky!!
I was worried about them because I heard that a Irish girl was brutally gang raped out there a few months ago by a Morocan and his mates that she met in Freddys Bar.
As far as I know they were not caught.

I know exactly where you're coming from about this situation. I am young lady who likes a drink or 2 but have always made sure I can still get home safely. I saw the same thing happen when I was in pdc in oct last year. 2 younger girls were very drunk and could have injured themselves badly as they were trying to get down to the beach over the wall. even the police try to reason with them but they didnt get any response from them. A local man did actually try to talk to them and though he may have been genuine they could have got in a lot of trouble too.
I hope its not totally unsafe to walk around pdc on your own as i will be moving there this summer alone. i felt safe when i was there on holiday but maybe its because i always stuck with my sister and the friends we made.

Lanzarote is vey safe.
But like everywhere in the world you got to be street wise.
Like those girls should have noticed that there was a gang of men watching them and moved on or went home.

yeah thats true. Im am little streetwise but can stand up for myself as some of the men learnt when i was there last.
But unfortunately some young girls will never learn.
