back to c.t in aug ,3 weeks and cant wait, have not paid for any luggage as of yet,my plan was to use all our hand luggage weight,40kg in total for 4 passangers, and not to take a case, but wife thinks we should as otherwise we cant take sunlotions etc.so do i pay for 1 case,£25 each way,or dont ,and buy all lotions etc in lanz,i have visited lanz 12 times now,but never priced sunlotions as always taken them,so any good advice on sunlotion prices would be great.i love the idea of hand luggage only, off plane, taxi,no hanging around

They're easy enough to buy over there.

And there's not much in it for price. We live here, but don't bother stocking up with it in UK - unlike razor blades which are expensive here.

P20 very cheap in Lanza. Not worth the bother or expense of carrying it over.

Sorry, new to all this so be nice!! But what about shower gels, shampoo etc? Also perfume and aftershave? I know everything is available in Lanza, but do you really want to spend your first day shopping for all that stuff? Also most supermarkets at home do really cheap deals on suncream, and all shower stuff, which could be cheaper than on hols!! Another thing that concerned me was i have seen lots of shops with all their suncreams outside in racks in the really hot sun, surely this can't be good? Anyone know? We are thinking of doing what was mentioned earlier: just pay for one case and put all the creams etc in that,we have a son who has excema and can react to certain suncream so need to bring one we know will not effect him,of thats not a prob, then maybe waiting til you arrive is good!!

Leaving aside the eczema issue, for which you perhaps need a certain brand (lthough the farmacias here will certainly stock something suitable), somewhere like Hiperdino or a farmacia stock all the products you need, because people living here use them too. Unlike some of the tourist beach shops, they have them all indoors. You might save a pound or two by buying back in UK, but probably not enough to pay for a case (and I assume you'd be taking back the half-finished ones to save money) so you'd need a case both ways. You won't save much time.

Yes i suppose thats true. We tend to leave stuff thats not full,i usually use ambrie soliare on my sons or nivea, which can be expensive unless you get them on a bogof deal!! Also we don't drive so use the local spar supermarkets, which i think are more expensive for all their shower stuff. the other reason to take a case is so we can bring back some wine etc, just a little perk Anyway, everyone is different,as long as we all enjoy our hols thats the main thing!! Roll on July!
