Hi does anyone know how I can reserve a table at El Ancla in PCD for our first night of our holiday? I have tried to contact them to make a reservation through their website but this was a couple of weeks ago and I still haven't heard back from them so I assume they don't regulary check their emails.

Thanks

I wouldnt worry. It is higly unlikely you will not get a table when you are coming.

Ray is right, you should be able to walk straight in,

Each to their own, but I have always found El Ancla hit and miss

Enjoy Lanza

Thanks for the advice, hopefully there will be a table free for us when we get there, I just wanted to be organised with us not landing till 7.10pm on a Friday night so we literally just want to dump our bags at the apartment have a quick wash and change then go out for our evening meal at a place which we have tried and tested many times.

This will be our forth time in PDC and El Ancla is one restaurant which has never disapointed us, the staff have always been friendly and pleasant, the menu has something for everyone and the location is perfect being able to sit outside watching the world go by and is also ideal for us staying in the Old Town just a five minute walk away.

I guess you are flying Monarch Tez ?,
We flew with last last week and we in our apartment by 7.35, we landed slightly early and there was no line at the taxi rank :D

Like I say mate. have a great time, I wasn't meaning to put you off El Ancla by any stretch, just when I have been in there, I've had some really nice stuff but some not so nice

As you are in the Old Town, keep an eye out for Emma's Cantina, The English Rose Tea rooms and Bodecos, I promise you won't be disappointed

happy Holidays
Danny :D

I will second Danny's comments, Bodeco's and Emma's are two of the best resteraunts I have ever been in.

Have a great time - I'm extremely jealous!

Thanks for the advice, we were going to eat in Bodecas last time we were on holiday but it was so warm in there and the thought of eating a hot meal in a hot restaurant was appealing even though we've heard it's got a good reputation. Declan and his wife still got plenty of money off us though as we spent most nights in Buddy's Bar watching the band! We're gutted that Pedro, Albert and Rory aren't in Buddy's any more. Does anyone know if Rory is still in Craic & Ceol??

Will have to give Emmas a try, we've walked by there a few times and it always looks quite busy, the only thing that has put us off before is the scanky bins just across the road from there!

Are the English Rose Tea rooms on the road that runs across the top of Calle Los De Afrechos??

Yes that's rright, the English Rose tea rooms are on Los Afrechos
Graham and Louise are great hosts and the food is first class.

If you make it to Emma's you won't be sorry, not all the food is hot, just really tasty ......say hello to Mike for me and tell him I'm still looking for the Tequilla :D (he'll know what you mean)

Have a great time
Danny

Can someone give me directions to Buddys? Have to say ate twice in Bodecos last year and found the food fabulous, it's now become my fav restaurant in PDC. Nice touch is the free drink of your choice at the end of the meal.

Hi Angel, maybe somebody who is resident on the island will be able to give you better directions to Buddys but it is just along from the harbour, past Heineken Bar and San Miguel, in the corner next to the carvery and opposite the play area. If you're not able to find it from these directions, ask Bo in Bodecas because her Husband Declan runs Buddy's and she will be able to give you directions from the restaurant.

As far as I know, Rory Gallagher, formerly from The Revs is still based at Craic and Ceol in the old town, he's definitely worth going to see.
