Taxi from the airport to PDC

Hi

Hope someone can help me...I am returning to PDC for the 3rd time in September with my boyf. We have booked independently this time (and for the first time ever!) and need to sort out transfers. Can anyone advise what is best? We are staying at La Penita (again) and will be looking at either pre booking a transfer (quoted £11 pp return) or just jumping in a cab on arrival. Which will work out better?

Also where is the taxi rank located at the airport? On previous visits we have been herded onto a coach and have totally neglected to take any notice for future reference!!

The taxi rank is straight outside the airport. Instead of turning right towards the coach park just go forward, you can't miss the taxi's. They are quick and at €10-12 each way an excellent way to start your break.

Busses always go round the bloomin houses. And with PDC right next to airport there is no excuse. Anyway, I always now go with taxi, although would say that to Penita, you're maybe looking at E15 each way. The E11 ppn return is quite cheap, who is that with? And yeah when you come through customs into the main lobby, go straight out the doors underneath the stairs/lift area and cab rank is there.

Is it best to get a price upfront? Or are the meters pretty fair?

The £11 per person return fare is with a2b transfers. We used them in Gran Canaria last year and were fab. We were really impressed.

I had friends who booked a transfer in December and they waited for over an hour. We got a taxi within 10 minutes and it was reasonable. We both stayed in PDC

The meters are spot on, they even show the surcharge from the Airport.
This doesn't come into play on the return trip.

We have also stayed at La Penita.

Would definately recommend taxi - Very reasonable (10 - 15 euros) - you will be at La Penita in about 10 mins after you get your cab at the airport. Taxis are plentiful and you should have no longer than a couple of minutes to wait for one.

Aww thanks folks! Cab it is!!

It's our third visit to La Penita, we can't wait. We usually do a package but we trust La Penita so much we've booked direct with them for 11 nights. Just a shame Sept 18th is sooo long away.

Only 30 weeks to wait....

I'm lucky only 5 days to wait, but......................... :shock:

leave Butuan at 0450 wednesday, fly via Manila, Doha and Manchester to Lanza, arrive 1915 thursday at Arrecife!

Well worth the trip! Love Lanza!

What about getting back to the airport? Will it be easy enough to pick up a taxi in PDC on a Thursday or Sunday, or should we book one in advance? Maybe a silly question but it's a long walk!!

928 524 220 for a taxi, just phone from a local call box they speak good english, or ask reception to call one for you. They will be there in 10-15 mins max.

if you phone them be ready as they often come within 1 minute.
