The week from Hell caused by one visit to the Big Apple.

My son, daughter and her friend walked in one night and within 5 minutes my son had had three upper teeth smashed out two lower teeth broken and one broken so badly it had to be removed. His lower lip was gashed down the middle into three flaps which hung loose. One of the bar staff has taken him to one side and smahed a glass into his face, with no provocation, no argument and totally senseless.
We have spent a week going between the hospital, the police station, the dentist, the solicitor, the police, the dentist and the courts of Justice.

hhhhhhhmmmmmm. i know the big apple very well and all the staff there and it doesnt sound like any of them. they very rarely fight and especially not unprovoked. not being rude but could the circumstances be a little different to how you have told them????

Strange that most of the locals have nothing good to say about the Big Apple.
And having received personal messages from the forum, it appears that your view that the place is perfectly safe, may not be as believable as you make out.

Sorry to hear about this, I hope your son recovers fully. There are scumbags everywhere seemingly.

Hope he recovers ok. Have to say though that when we were in last year, the only scary thing was the prices!! guys behind the bar then were really friendly and we had a laugh with them. Not saying anything about what happened to your son, just my experience of the big apple.

also, i didnt mention anything about the place being safe, i just said it doesnt sound like any of the bar staff there!!!!!!!! but yes i do actually find it very safe, i know many girls that go there alot and never had any problems. Im not saying ive never seen a fight in lanzarote but its normally either english fighting with english, or locals with locals, or occasions like you said about but when trouble has started already, normally when english guys are so drunk they get kicked out and then start on the staff. But i have never known any bar staff do something like that unprovoked, especially the current staff there. I will be asking around now though and i will find out for sure what happened.

The place is a dump, overpriced poor quality drink, the owner is a sleeze......my g/f drink was spiked last time i was there (I know it can hapen anywhere before you say)...............in my opinion one of the worst bars in PDC.....avoid like the plague..................Rob sorry to hear about you son.........I hope justice will be done......

I absolutely concur with that one occdigital Wouldn't drink in most of the places in Centro.....It's a shame some people go on holiday to PDC and think Centro is IT as far as bars and entertainment are concerned.

Centro is the worst PDC has to offer.........with its PR's hounding you day after day and the sleeze it attracts.....suppose I learnt the hard way when I first visited PDC.........I stick to the tried and tested now....ie spenders, friends etc........we spend our hard earned money to go on holiday and relax, not being tense about where the next idiot is going to start trouble.........its a shame that one small area gives the whole place a bad name......maybe im not 18 anymore and into that type of lifestyle but there needs to be more control over Centro in general......

the first time i went to PDC we walked the strip , everything was excellent untill we got to centro atlantico , the hassle by PR's was like playa las americas in tenerife where they physically grab you to try get you into the place.


after that we never went back , we prefer the ruta 66 and the american indian bar along with the numerous family friendly bars in PDC

this is coming from a 31 yera old male whos fiancee has worked in PDC and her pal has been there for over 10 years.

stay away is my advice
