Hya all, i'm coming back for the 2nd time in September but this time i want to propose to my girlfriend and was wondering about sunsets to pop the big one. Ideally i'd like to accompany it with a nice meal and some traditional music, any1 got any suggestions for the best place. Even if its just a nice spot to see a sunset, i can take a bottle of wine etc, your help would be so much appreciated as i want to make this special.
Cheers Scotty

I would maybe look towards the "El Diablo" restaurant in the Fire Mountains, do a google search for contact details, or maybe Femés, with the restaurant overlooking the Playa Blanca Volcano and Fuerteventura.

El Golfo has a lot to offer as well.... Some top class fish/seafood restaurants right on the waterfront and a sunset to die for (if weather permits)......

- or if you want to make it really fab, - bring your own basket of food and wine and go to Playa Famara (northern end of it)....
If you're lucky, - you may be close to the only ones on one of the most beautiful beaches of Lanzarote (low tide preferable)...

There area number of local Canarian groups, normally playing a 5 string instrument called the timple. CD´s can be bought in shops such as Mystic and at many of the tourist attractions. Sometimes you are lucky enough to get an impromtu performance as you travel the Island.

You would need to take your own stuff, but Las Nieves. (google images) Quite difficult to find, cliff top location which looks down on Famara Beach and its a long way down!!! Even if you go during the day, theres nobody there. I have been going to Lanzarote for years and very rarley do you meet anyone who knows about it. Even some of the locals are like, where??!!. It is so peaceful and tranquil. Good luck

Thanks for the replies, El Golfo sounds nice but is this easy to get to if i'm not hiring a car? Also are there any sunset boat cruises that are operated in Playa? Also whats the Rubicon Marina like, do you get sunsets there?

Not sure about Golfo! Its a lovely place for lunch but can't see it as a secluded place for question popping! And yes if you haven't got a car tricky - but then why aren't you hiring a car?! 90E for the week for a little runaround!
Sunsets - Femes - the best place - maybe on the balcony outside the church overlooking playa blanca?

Thanks for all the replies, we are back now, we went for a nice meal at the La Bocaina in the end, got down on one knee and popped the question and she said yes . The food there is amazing and after our planned wedding in 2013 we are coming back to Playa and having an anniversary meal there.
