Does anyone know Tommy from Big Apple? - im so tempted to drop everything here and go work over there for a few months, and hes startin with a nice new boss who might just give me a job so i want to see what the new bar is like, was jumpin jaks but changin names a re-openin this Saturday i think.

What did your friend do to get over there and get a job/find somewhere to live?

I feel really stuck, i have a mortgage with my guy of 9 years, i am still happy with him but seeing the life i could be living is sending me crazy - even if i went for a few months it would do, i think if i dont do it i'll end up regretting it big time.They are all having such a good laugh over there and if i dont do it soon i'll be too old!!

hi, ye i know tommy. we had great laugh with him and moha when we were over in june. they had us up on the bar dancing every night. tommy a right cheeky chap and really nice guy. so wish i had spent a summer working there too, been syaing that for last 3-4 years now and never had guts to do it.

Well it all kicked off on Saturday when i decided to tell my bloke that i liked it so much over there id like to go back and work for a while - he went nuts and is still refusing to speak to me. I know ive probably really hurt his feelings but i thought hed rather know that i was considering it - obviously not.

Reading what you wrote Kaz about wanting to go over but never having the guts to do it makes me want to go over even more otherwise i'll regret it. But then again i might not like it and end up losing my bloke and my house (and the dog, shes so cute!!)

Its so hard, i cant concentrate at work and im in a constant daydream, if i leave he would have to sell the house becuase we split the mortgage, i dont think i can do it to him, but then im giving up what i really want to do!

Is it Tommy you want to come out for or to work? 2 diffewrent things their Heva so try reading some of the other posts before making any decisions.

i have been going to lanza every year now for 6 years, 1st 2 years with boyfriends and the last 4 with friends. last year i just about did move over but it just didnt happen. i was even told i had a job waiting on me if i wanted it. i was same as u, i was in constant daydream, day and night and just wanted to be over there. every1 is just so laid back, friendly. the thing that made my mind up to not do it was the money is a lot worse than it is here and i'd prob end up dying over there with the amount of alcohol!
how old are u heva?
after being there again in june this year i was longing to go back again and stay but i didnt AGAIN as I have a lovely boyfriend who I adore. He read an email from me to a pal who lives in lanza saying i was desperate to move over and he was not impressed at all. took him ages to believe i wanna be with him. i know how u feel heva but i dont think u should risk ur life here.

Very, very Serious thought is needed before a move like that!
It´s all the same problems as in the UK but with good weather and a language barrier.
Think very carefully, It´s definately not all roses out here!

Thanks guys, i think you are right - its not worth losing what ive got here. Ive just got the task of convincing him i want to be here with him now!!

Never been keen on roses, lots of things to get thorny about, life is good but you have to work hard and try to drink hard too! lol
