Does anyone know if they sell pampers nappys? and Swimming nappies? Aptimal baby milk? and jars of baby food? Im sure they do just wanting to double check as i have one fussy baby! and i don't want to have to change her milk etc i would rather just pack it all if not! Thanks for your help

They have all of the above in PDC.
The milk is probably a little sweeter than at home, so the little one should have no problems with it.

Hi
We travelled with a 10 month old and we used Dodots Nappies (I believe these are pampers spain version)
Baby food isnt a problem
For milk we preordered the ready made aptimal cartons from Boots airside at the airport and collected them on the way through. Therefore no risk of not having any when you get there.

Dodots is the same as pampers so fine on that one.
Aptimal stage one is a different colour box - its not the pale blue - think its more greenish! Can't remember. Our 1 year has just come off it now and is on full milk - but the fresh milk is a bit variable in that its either all sold out or gone of after a day so we're experimenting with UHT.
Foodwise they have most of the jars though a bit expensive but she's just eating what we are in the main.

Beware of buying aptimal in Lanzarote, Tesco Ireland price 10.49, Pharmacy in Tias 25.89, also you can only get the stage 1 food in the pharmacy the supermarkets are NOT allowed sell it, be aware also (cause we got caught) that all but 1 pharmacy closes on a Sunday and we were in PDC when we ran out, taxi to Tias and back 20.00, food 25.89, so nearly 50.00 for one tin of food.
Something you may also be not aware of is the Sodium levels in the bottled waters in Lanzarote, my GF's mother is a healthnurse and she was the one who told us, you should always try and make the babys bottles with the lowest sodium level water you can get, we got 6.0 in one of the supermarkets, mineral water on Ryanair comming over was around the 15.0 mark.

You should find suitable bottled water. I'd not heard about this so googled and read the NHS advice here http://www.nhs.uk/Planners/birthtofive/ ... rmula.aspxI've only got supermarket fizzy water in the house today; I guess the still water is similar, but check; The NHS say "check the label to make sure the sodium (also written as Na) level is less than 200 milligrams (mg) per litre, and the sulphate (also written as SO or SO4) content is not higher than 250mg per litre." My bottle of agua con gas says SO4 43.9 and Na 18.6.

We bought a 6ltr bottle of water at the supermarket (Hiperdino i think) at Spinikers Bar in PDC with a 6.0 Sodium level so it is available, amazing what we take for granted being "Adults"........

Occidental - we definitely bought Aptimil stage 1 last year in the big hiperdino in Playa Blanca. It was a little more than usual about 13E usually £8-9 in UK - and thats the first I've heard about having to get stage 1 from the pharmacy. Or maybe just none of the smaller super markets in PDC stock it. Good tip on the sodium but if its only once and to get some peace and quiet on the flight over I don't think it will make a difference! Compared to the family I saw feeding their 1 year old chips at the airport..... http://www.babyabroad.co.uk/Travelling- ... spain.html

Hi,if your daughter is a year old she can now come off the formula and have cows milk, or do you not fancy doing that yet?? Would be a good idea to try before hols though!! We first took our boys to Lanza when they had just turned 1 and they were fine with ordinary milk and the stuff in jars but they were mainly eating what we ate at that age,but i know it can be difficult with a fussy one! WE took swim nappies with us,they don't weigh much, and i think we took some pampers and then just bought whatever was available (was a long time ago, they are 16 and 11 now) Hope you have a great time and don't forget loads of high factor suncream!
