In 2006 we stayed at the Tropicana in PDC we loved the apartments and the location was brillant so we decided last August to book to go back in the March 2008,Thomas Cook took our booking and we were really looking forward to going back we had paid the holiday off in the December than got a letter a few days later saying they were not doing the Tropicana now no explanation and they were putting us in the Los Pueblos complex we accepted i was not to happy.Anyway when we got to the Los Pueblos the location was not what we expected we like going to the beach and you had to get a taxi as the location was that far away in the old harbour part of the town the apartments themselves were not to bad but the location the hills its a miracle we did not have a heart attack.
Anyway we went to look to see if any other company had took over the Tropicana but the place was all boarded up so asked at the bar that was nearby and they said it had been shut for at least 6 months but they never said why what a shame a lovely little complex like that but what annoyed me was that going on threads like this one people were saying Thomas Cook had took the bookings for the Tropicana and just fobbed them off once they had payed fully for the holidays.
So does anybody know if and when the Tropicana will ever open again if they do please let me know all i think is what ashame.

Hi

Sorry, don't know about Tropicana, but not surprised to hear that Thomas Cook did that to you. They took a booking from us in December 2007 for a holiday in April 2008 that had day flights each way. Three weeks before we went, they changed the return time from 12.30 to 21.30 and would not discount the flight, even though we know that day flights cost more
We then had a seven hour delay flying out from Gatwick, (got the princely sum of £7.00 in vouchers) and three hours on the flight back. Whilst stuck at Arrecife airport, I got chatting to one of the reps. He told me that the reason the return flight time was changed, was that as it was on the 1st May, summer flight had schedules kicked in, and that meant night flights. So in other words, Thomas Cook had no intention of ever flying us back in the daytime.
I have written to them, but besides the automated response stating that they'll get back to me in 48 hours I've heard nothing, and don't expect to.
I'll never use them again!! :x :x
