Just want to make people aware of this villa. We paid nearly €1700 for 2 weeks. From the filthy bed spreads to the insect eating couch. The kitchen was filthy and the smell was appalling. I would never recommend anyone to say in the villa. In fact we checked into another place 3 days before we were due to leave because we couldn't stick it anymore. Totally ruined our holiday. Much nicer villas around for half the price!!!!!!!!!!

Was the place like this when you arrived? I assume you immediately contacted the owner or agent then, so what did they do in the eleven days before you left?

I got married in lanzarote this year and for the first 8 days i was not in the villa and was running around like a headless chicken sorting out the wedding, the other 2 days we stayed in the hotel after the wedding and when we came back to the villa, we decided enough was enough and moved out. I did complain to the agent that giving the price we paid, expected a better standard. The was a foul smell coming from the kitchen which when i rang the agent, he told me to put bleach down the drains which didn't work but in the end, the smell was an half of a stale milk carton left between the window and the kitchen. If the cleaning staff were doing their job, they would have spotted it.

The couch was cloth material and everytime you sat on it, you got bitten alive. Really should invest in a leather one.

The bed spreads had stains on it - should really invest in some new bed spreads also.

So, have you written to the owner? He should be given the chance of getting the place organised/get a new agent, and maybe he might refund some of the money.

Met up with the agent, wouldn't give me a refund or any money back but says he looks after villas all over the island and when i come back to lanzarote, ring him and he will knock his commission off. Thanks but no thanks. The thing about it is if they just spruced up the place a bit, got rid of a few things, maybe got cleaners in that knew how to clean, it could be fantastic.

Just wanted to share my experience.

I googled the name, and came up with this http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/canaries/c3265.htm, which has the owner's contact details. You could contact him direct. If that isn't the villa, then apologies all round.

We have stayed there 3 times, it was wonderful. Very clean and modern, do not be put off, look at the pictures on the web site they are up to date and we can honestly say we had a great experience staying in this villa.

"UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT"
At the beginning of 2011 the owners of Villa Isabella appointed me the new manager of there villa as they where aware that the previous managment company where not coming up to scratch and took immediate action and changed company.
Ever since the take over we have had nothing but happy customers, the villa has had alot of improvements over the year from raising the perimiter walls, installing new gates and doors for complete privacy for the guests.
The swimming pool and childrens pool has been completely refurbished and new settee's and bed linen have been replaced.
The owner is very willing to take on any suggestions of improvement from his guests and has done so in the last year as it is very important that his guests are happy.
Because we are a professional management company and my standards are very high, i oversee every changeover in Villa Isabella to make sure that the standards are the same for every guest.
Since i have been manageing Villa Isabella i have not had one complaint from any guest and i think that goes to show what a lovely villa it is and how well it is being looked after.

I'm glad to hear it, and good luck. The OP seems to have had his bad experience in a Villa Isabella since you took over. When I suggested above that he contact the owners, he went strangely quiet. Perhaps there are two Villas Isabella - it's not an unusual name.

We frequent Lanzarote on a reguler basis and stayed at the Villa between 19th December to 29th December last year. I was concerned at the comments about this villa posted on this forum.

However, I can honestly say that this has to be one of the best Villas we have stayed in while visiting the island. It was clean, no smelly, no bites from the sofa and the pool was excellent. Very spacious and comfortable lounge, bedroom and clean bathrooms.

The outside area was spacious, ok there was some Aircraft noise but didnt really bother us as this is to be exected considering our location.

We are considering coming back in July.

So I wonder if there are two villas Isabella? Or was the original Post malicious? Guber posted three times about it on the day he joined, 4 Aug, then never responded after that.
