Oh I've found various sites advertising the villa - but none of the supposed other bad reviews seem to turn up.

Just believe its a bit naughty naming someone before they've had right of reply at least.

Found this:
http://www.reviewcentre.com/last_reviews_ci39.html

It was posted on the same date as the first post in this thread, so presumably the same person.

It looks very nice indeed!

It's very easy to post on this forum and say what you like, either good or bad, but I really feel so much of this went beyond a "normal warning" as such to others. This was going too far altogether and I'm surprised the "Administrator" hasn't stopped it.

And regarding cockroaches, they are part and parcel of the climate, location etc. I was fortunate to see none at all during my fortnight last month but in previous years I have seen plenty.

Problems do occur with airlines, transfers, villa owners and so on, but bad-mouthing on an otherwise friendly and helpful forum is not the way forward - in my opinion!

You could always post a review on the Trip Advisor website.

That seems fairly open regarding what you can and can't say about a property/hotel/restaurant/etc. and it's quite popular too by all accounts so lots of people will see said review.

(I've only recently discovered Trip Advisor!)

What I find interesting is that there is no reply from the owner.

Of course he may not subscribe to this forum!

Just remember to take whatever you read on there with a huge sack of salt!

Agreed.

People will go to the bother of complaining but they won't go to the bother of commending.

If 10 people dislike a restaurant/hotel, 5 might complain.

If 20 people like the same restaurant/hotel, 5 might go to the bother of writing up a nice review.

Well sort of....

But I was thinking more on the line of taking reviews written by people who consider McDonalds a viable mealtime option at face value.

Slightly scary reading some of the playa blanca reviews. I wouldn't let my dog stay at two of the places that got good ratings.

With so many Villas to choose from, this would certainly put me off!! 2 reviews and both poor.
I have stayed in 4 different Villas in the last 3 years all booked with Owners direct, all excellent, and this year had a fantastic Villa again in PDC,would recommend it to anybody, spotlessly clean and outstanding service
