Does anyone have info on a water-taxi from Puerto Calero to Puerto del Carmen, how often it runs, what it costs etc?

I have been on the water taxi. It cost 5 euro when I was there in January. I think it runs fairly frequently around every 2 hours or so - best to check with its office in the harbour. A nice trip is to take the hillside walk from the harbour in PDC to Puerto Calero, browse the shops on the marina or have a cold drink(or two/three!) and then get the water taxi back to the harbour in PDC

Thank you. It's surprising how cheap things seem to be there, 5 euros sounds OK. I've been looking up bus prices too and they're incredibly cheap, compared to where I live anyway!

Think we're going to be a bit adventurous as we're not having a hire car for the whole fortnight this time, trying buses, water-taxis and perhaps even the odd camel or two!!

The walk sounds good and it seems as if the path has been developed more now from the Old Town out towards Calero. Looking forward to it, only nine days to go now!!

Hey, that walk from PDC to Calero sounds nice. Does it start at those zig-zag stairs after the 'Old-Town' harbour? Is it a safe walk? What kinda footwear is needed?

my husband did that walk every day we were over, a pair of sturdy sandals or runners are best. i walked part of the way in flip flops but it was too dusty so had to turn back and get a beer :D there is a decent pathway for a little part of it but then its just broken ground and very dusty, but the views are amazing.

The path was improved a couple of years ago, and is very good now.
Even got benches to sit on and enjoy the view....

cheers
Keith
