From experience make sure you ask what they are offering before showing them what you want to change, some state a rate with no commision but it will apply to either travellers cheques or cash. I know the difference is not massive but every little helps.

hey people

Going to PDC on 8th Oct for a week! Whats the exchange rate over there at the mo?? here it is €1.06!! crap! Is it any better over there and do you know of any websites that I can check such as banks etc?

Would be grateful for a reply thanks.

I dont know what the rate is over there today, but I was there a couple of weeks ago, and the rate was only 1 or 2 cents better there than it was here in the UK.

Commision free over there and in the UK so nothing in it really.

The rate when i first arrived in PDC was 1.11 whereas i got 1.7 here in the UK and when i left yesterday it was 1.7 in PDC.

There's usually some variation, depending on where you change your money in PDC.

Many of the electronic equipment shops offer great rates, no commission, etc., but then you have to talk your way out of the shop without buying anything!

If it's of any use, I've stuck a currency converter option on my blog.
