Hi! Im new to this website but I wondered if anyone could advise me of the best place to hire a villa in Lanzarote.
I am hoping to come in September with my sister and elderly mother and although we dont want to
be out in the 'sticks' the villas that I have been looking at on various websites all seem to be in very
built up areas. We are looking for somewhere with a bit of seclusion but also near to the beach and a town with shops and restaurants etc.
Am I asking too much?

Personally I don't think you can beat Playa Blanca for villas, its what we always do. If you try James villas or Villaplus websites they advise whether a car is optional, recommended or essential. I always get a car anyway but if you choose a car optional villa you will be within walking distance of restaurants & bars. They both have a good selection. If you choose to go slightly further out there are still plenty of taxis and now a bus service. I'm shortly off to a villa in the Calemares area, probably less than 15 minute walk to the port

I'd agree with Playa Blanca, no offence Jason, but your villa is in a large complex in the middle of town, secluded is not a word I would use to describe it, nice as it is.

If you go for one of the villas at the Western end of Playa Blanca, you'll find they have largeish plots and are relatively secluded. We live in Carabela, which is very quiet - on a still night you can hear airplanes flying high enough to leave vapour trails, but is only 5 mins drive from a beach or from the town centre.

what about las brisas?

Seems close to everything, with privacy and also the communal pool for company!

I'd talk to Bob at www.luxuryvillaslanzarote.com Lanzarote's Finest Holiday Villas
He's the guy that puts the weather report on this forum and he'll sort you out with a villa that fits all your requirements.
He has a huge range of villas to choose from for you.
Our own villa is "car advised" so might not be right "location wise" for you but you are welcome to pm me if you want a look at our villa's website.
Bob advises clients as to which villa really require a car and he'll not set you wrong.

Our friend Ange at www.lanzarotelates.com also covers a lot of villas and she'll help you too.
