Can anyone advise what access to wifi coverage is available in Costa Teguise.
We are staying at Playa Bastian & usually visit bars in the Cutty Sark area and the main square by the Snug.

A little further away, opposite the post office and next door to the police station is La Esquina.
Excellent bar.

Expanding on the original request - it would be handy if there was a list of more places, as so many phones now have wifi, so its useful to know what is available.

http://maps.fon.com/

Fon who were started in Spain have massive coverage there, and now in much of the EU, including the UK. However, coverage in Lanzarote seemed dire with only about a dozen locations. Many people with BT internet are already subscribed to this without actually knowing - as BT is hoping to get money from selling a little part of that persons connection - and with all BT internet connections in the last year or so - you have it unless you opt out.

Their site is fairly unreliable and not working for the info - but if you are next to a FON site and not a member - i think its 2 euros for a days access, and you get some time - I think ten mins free to see if its worth paying to access. It may have changed - as I have been a member for years.

It also means you can use VOIP on smart phones via wifi (say in your hotel) so you get limitless calls home for about three quid a month (from Tesco i think - but there are others too).
