hi ive read up on winter weather but two people i know said lanzarote is freezing due to winds in winter, i am tending towards believing everyone but them two people but can you please advise what is appropriate clothing for dec/jan?
will a baby be more suited wearing trousers, tshirt and jumper rather than dress etc?
i went to cyprus in jan and we had a mix of weather so it was best to dress in layers so we could strip down if it warmed up however i believe the canaries normally boast a higher temp though the winds may affect this?
is it warm enough for sunwear or should i keep the bikini for the heated pool?
any advice gratefully recieved

I've been to Lanzarote in the winter months a few times and I didn't find it overly chilly. People had said that I should take a cardigan out at night but I never found the need but then again I am northern so we never bother about the cold as we're used to it!

You might be wise to take some layers with you especially if you have a baby but I'd rather use my case space for more duty free!

I've been over for the past 4-5 Christmas' / New year. Last year I went for a month; mid Dec-mid Jan. With the exception of one very rainy day (in a month that is) and the odd cloud, Lanza at that particular time of year is very much like a nice summers day over here; high 60s & 70s, with the odd day in the 80s or even higher. Last year on Boxing day it was 94 around the pool at the complex where I stay. It can get a bit chilly of an evening, so yes, a cardi or light fleece is recomended. But all in all, nothing to worry about really. Definately no frost or anything like that..
I'll be back again this year....

thanks for the replies, sorry didnt reply sooner but computer monitor broke so bought laptop in end!
i will pack a mix then like i did for cyprus so we have a jumper for evening etc and baby doesnt goet too hot or cold etc
i am a northerner but allways hated to cold so no braving the redcar sea front for me, headed south inthe end to escape that cold air but sadly never enough money to escape abroad

It might rain a bit in Winter, but I have never known it to be cold in Lanz. A cardy is all you would need.

We have been visiting the Canaries for over 20 + years now, to escape the cold in the UK.

We have always returned with a tan, even if spending just a week.

its weird isnt it, soon as i mention lanzarote to people start in saying how wet and horrible it is!! i read it had less rainfall in the canaries than the others(the landscape gives a good clue too!) i shall take the advice of you people on here as im beginning to think people are confusing it with somewhere else!
ive just came back from majorca and it was boiling hot (40 c every day and no air con )so think a bit milder winter sun will suit me fine. oh has alredy repacked his suitcase for lanzarote bless him!

summer time is always here,never needed a jumper in the last 15 years,and the seas still warm...

well can report weather is pants in england so roll on dec!
