Hi, never been at Xmas, but have been the three out of last four New Years. Always had a fabulous time. The weather is consistently hot and sunny but the pool is freezing unless you get apt's with a heated one. Bars and restaurants are pretty busy, but it gets a wee bit quiet after the 2nd Jan. Was really raging I couldn't get there this last New Year. Have heard folk really have a great time at xmas too.

Hi Fedge,

Not sure about Christmas as we stay in Blightly, but me and the family go to PDC every new year.

I cannot praise the resort highly enough, leaving Manchester in the snow and arriving in the sun only fours hours later is amazing. The place is buzzing and the people are so friendly. You also have Spanish Christmas on 5th or 6th Jan and there's usually a big parade all along the front.

We've done Benidorm, The Algarve, and even Tenerife at new year, but NOTHING can compare to the Lanzarote food, weather, and friendly people.

Get it booked - and you'll have a fantastic time!

We have been on holiday there for the last 7 Christmas and New Years. Not going on holiday there this year. We will be living there as of August.

You jammy git Ray!

We're looking to move out there in around 2 years, just waiting for redundancy to be offered at my current job, and for the economy to pick up in Lanza.

Hopefully, we'll be there by 2013!

Good luck Ray.

Oh Clappit, I think I saw them too at Carnaval past. They were an outrage, we're sure one of them had a kilt on that resembled a muff!!

I'm going to be pedantic here. I've often heard the myth about "Spanish Christmas is on 6th January" or "The Spanih celebrate Christmas on 6th January".

The Spanish celebrate Christmas on 25th December like everyone else but on 6th January they have the feast of the Kings. This is a celebration of the 3 kings presenting gifts to the baby Jesus. Which is why they exchange gifts that day.

Every day's a school day

The Lanzarote Christmas is the same as in the Phillipines where your company seems to be based. :!:

The January 6th is more of a celebration of the three kings than the old man Father Christmas.

unlike the uk you wont see shops full of xmas goods till december.
its more of a chilled out event here unlike the madness at xmas in uk and the u.s.
a family meal and a drink for the adults but for the kids the big day is jan 5 when the three kings ride into town on camels, throwing sweets, and jan 6 when they recieve there presents(they may get a small present on dec 25 aswell)
the best thing for me is the belenes..christmas scenes outside places like the fariones hotel.
overall i much prefer xmas in the uk or somewhere where there is snow!!
